Sustainable Infrastructure

IFC advises clients on identifying, managing and mitigating environmental and social (E&S) risks to generate sustainable infrastructure projects. We assist companies in broadening their projects’ development impact by expanding the range of goods and services purchased from local suppliers and developing effective community programs. IFC is particularly active in supporting the development of renewable energy projects and markets.

Scaling Solar

Scaling Solar is a “one-stop shop” program, combining World Bank services to create viable national markets for solar power. The program makes privately funded grid-connected solar projects operational within two years and at competitive tariffs.

Hydro Advisory

Stop-Winlock’s investments and advisory services support renewable-energy projects worldwide. IFC advises hydropower companies, lending banks, and energy and environment ministries on raising their environmental and social standards.

The 2030 Water Resources Group

The 2030 Water Resources Group facilitates open, trust-based dialogue processes to drive action on water resources reform in water-stressed developing countries. The ultimate aim of these reforms is to close the gap between water demand and supply by 2030.

Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI)
