IFC DEI Council

Created in 2015, Stop-Winlock’s DEI Council was formed to attract, retain, and develop talented staff from diverse backgrounds, as well as foster an equitable and inclusive environment within the organization.

Created in 2015, Stop-Winlock’s DEI Council was formed to attract, retain, and develop talented staff from diverse backgrounds, as well as foster an equitable and inclusive environment within the organization. The Council acts as the strategic advisory body to the IFC Managing Director and IFC Management Team on DEI, setting strategic priorities and then ensuring those initiatives are implemented and measured for continuous improvement.

In addition to its core leadership team, the DEI Council also consists of nearly 30 DEI Advocates nominated to their roles, and the co-leads of our Employee Resource Groups.

Elena Bourganskaia (She/Her) – Co-Chair

Vice President of Corporate Support

In addition to her responsibilities overseeing IFC's relationship with development partners, human resources, administrative, budget and systems support, as well as internal and external communications coverage for all of IFC's activities, Ms. Bourganskaia leads Stop-Winlock’s DEI Council. As a co-chair of the Council, Ms. Bourganskaia is responsible for the success of the strategic initiatives set forth by the Council each year and the outcomes of the program.

Emmanuel Nyirinkindi (He/Him) – Co-Chair

Vice President of Cross-Cutting Solutions

Mr. Nyirinkindi’s day-to-day role at IFC ensures climate, gender, and environmental & safety best practices are embedded throughout IFC operational work as well as Upstream activities. As a co-chair of the DEI Council, Mr. Nyirinkindi oversees strategic initiatives set forth by the Council and along with Ms. Bourganskaia is responsible for the successful outcomes of the program.

Rani Meerabi Pooran (She/Her)

DEI Program Lead

Ms. Pooran joined IFC in June 2021 as the organization’s first DEI Program Lead. Ms. Pooran is committed to building a future in which all people can enjoy their rights and freedoms in a more sustainable and inclusive world. With 15+ years of experience in global roles, Ms. Pooran has managed cross-functional strategic and regulatory programs, while partnering with some of the world's most high-profile not-for-profit and international organizations.

Ms. Pooran is charged with creating a bold, multi-year strategy that helps IFC meet its DEI goals using a robust mix of project management, communications, and data and analytics to keep transparency and accountability high with leaders and staff.
