Innovations and Opportunities for Collaboration with the Private Sector

Climate investment in emerging markets remains vastly inadequate given the size of the challenges we face, and the investment gap between developed and developing economies keeps widening. Private sector development banks are responding by scaling up the private capital they crowd-in to emerging markets from a range of sources, including institutional investors.

This event will explore how MDBs are innovating and how these innovations are perceived by shareholders and partners as conduits to greater climate investment by the private sector. It will also bring in private investors to discuss lessons learned from existing MDB partnerships, as well as opportunities and constraints to increasing their participation in climate finance in EMDEs.
